WHY OVERSEED YOUR LAWN?
Your lawn can take a beating throughout the year thanks to weather, kids, and pets. There are nearly limitless possibilities why your lawn can start to thin out. Overseeding is an easy and effective way to strengthen your lawn and thicken your grass to help naturally protect against weed problems.
WHEN TO OVERSEED
The best time of year to overseed your lawn is in the late summer and early fall. That way the soil is still warm, but the air is cool, providing optimal growing conditions. We avoid overseeding in the spring due to interference with our weed control program. Since overseeding goes hand-in-hand with aerating, we perform both services at the same time.
HOW WE OVERSEED
Overseeding cannot be done without proper aeration. As we have previously discussed in our aeration post, we aerate the lawn first to open up the soil and get the seed down into the soil, making growth faster and easier.
New grass seed is pretty sensitive and needs to follow a consistent watering schedule to get the best results. Your technician will leave you watering instructions.
