Why Aerate your lawn?

Aerating your yard once a year can help reduce the compaction of the soils in your yard. Many of our soils in Nebraska have a high content of clay and silt making them more prone to compaction which reduces a lawn's quality, growth and vigor due to poor root growth water infiltration, and oxygen in the soil. Aeration also helps with breaking down thatch as the plugs left behind by aerating filter back down into the grass canopy.
